Northeast River Valley Park
Details
**NEW Trail for us!**
Please be patient with us as we navigate these new NE trails.
About this walk: ~10-12km, ~2 hours walking time
**If the weather is bad, we'll shorten the walk.
We will walk the 2km loop at the new park then get onto the river valley paved path and head west towards Fraser Ravine. If we have time, we'll head north up the ravine then make our way back to our cars the same way we came.
Afterwards we can "xplore" a market that will be happening at the event centre until 4pm - "Naturecore Expo: Spring 2026". It's a botanical market featuring over 80 local vendors (houseplants, botanical art, seeds, food trucks, etc.) and it's free to attend.
We will park at the Event Centre Northeast River Valley Park.
**Please give yourself enough time to drive to the northeast side of the city.**
Google Maps shows the following directions from Anthony Henday Trail (Hwy 216):
- Take the 153rd Avenue turnoff heading east;
- Turn south (right) onto Meridian Street;
- Then turn left (east) along on 153 Avenue NE;
- Then turn south (right) on either 9th Street or 17th Street NE;
- Head onto 149th Avenue to the Event Centre.

- Optional: After you’re welcome to join us for a bite to eat - place TBD.
- *We are requesting a voluntary donation of $2 per event, or our suggested annual donation of $20. You can give the money to us and we’ll pass it along to our administrator who pays our group fee on Meetup. Thanks in advance.
