XR Initiative is a collective of XR/VR events for Brighton and Sussex. Hosted by Julian Weaver (Finetuned), Bowen Tan & Echo Cui (Tell Me Lemon).
Our aim is to bring XR/VR and related technologies to the fore in an interesting and engaging way.
Our events take place on a monthly basis to offer keynote talks, workshops and show & tell evenings.

Immersive Audio Special

For this event, we are pleased to host Rael Hodgson and Jim Simons, who will share their work at the intersection of VR, XR, music technology, hand tracking, haptics, and social music-making.Rael Hodgson
Rael Hodgson is a product leader specialising in VR and games, with 9 years' experience shipping products to over 3.5 million players. Rael took two VR fitness products from early stage to profitability—one bootstrapped with no VC funding.Rael will showcase Jamsesh, the social VR music he is building from the ground up at Hundun Labs.

Jim Simons
Jim Simons is an indie XR dev with a long history working on Music Tech products as well as more recently on hand tracking and haptics.Jim will present ‘Music creation using spatial computing’ including demoing the app Tranzient which is an electronic music creation experience released on all XR platforms (except Apple Vision Pro).
