This $100 4-hour pre-hackathon workshop is designed to prep participants for the hackathon the following day.

Workshop ticket will be reimbursed if you're a selected Hackathon winner.
The 4-hour pre-hackathon is Nov. 4th at 10AM PST, followed by the hackathon on Nov. 5th at 10AM PST.
This workshop is led by Artem Denisov, Shapes XR Chef competition winner and XReality Pro Instructor, with support from Gabriele Romagnoli and Jeremy Casper from the ShapesXR team.
About ShapesXR:
ShapesXR is a collaborative design and prototyping tool for immersive apps and games. Anybody can start creating in 3D without prior experience within minutes.
You can design spatial UI in 3D, invite others to co-create in real-time, build interactive prototypes, and present them during design reviews. You can also share your creation with anybody without a VR headset via the Web, the Unity plugin, or just a picture for your 2D deck.
ShapesXR's powerful feature set provides value to everybody involved in the creation of immersive apps:
- As a Designer, you can create in 3D without experience in game engines, test the design and layout of your UI in space and create interactive prototypes you can test with users
- As a Developer, you get a 3D handover directly in Unity of the design intent and user flow without making guesses from 2D images reducing rework and misunderstanding
- As a product owner or leader you get the chance to review the design spatially before any costly development starts and get valuable concepts you can share with clients or investors and pitch the product vision
By the end of this workshop, you'll be proficient in navigating and leveraging ShapesXR. Live demonstrations will be provided, followed by hands-on practice time.

- Research to low-fidelity prototype (Figma > Shapes > Unity)
- High-fidelity prototype with interactions
- Creating a presentation and video
- Q&A session
- Hands-on testing of ShapesXR

The Challenge
As an individual or a team, you have 6 hours to execute a tabletop game from concept to design. As long as the game is multiplayer and takes place on a flat surface, it qualifies.
Prizes
Individual winners will receive $1,000 USD each and teams with more than 4 members will receive a maximum of $4,000 USD to split among themselves.
