OPEN social: train and walk to Almscliff Crag + picnic lunch

If this is your first OPEN in-person event, please direct message me when you sign up as I have information I need to share with you :)

This is a family friendly event.

It is open to all OPEN members and their connections, families, partners, loved ones etc. Children and well behaved dogs are welcome, though dogs should be kept on the lead and please remember that not everyone likes dogs so don't let them jump on people without checking if they are okay with this.

The plan
• Catch the 10:36 am train from Leeds to Weeton
• Walk from Weeton to Almscliff Crag for a picnic lunch
• Walk from the crag to Pannal and get the train back to Leeds

Best value for money is probably an open return from Leeds to Pannal (£9 when I looked today).
You can also get on the train at Burley Park, Headingley or Horsforth if it's easier for you. I'll be getting on at Headingley (10:44 am).
If we don't find each other on the train, we'll find each other on the platform at Weeton.

Bring anything you might need for the day such as food, drinks and things to keep you warm. The walk is about 9.5 km / 6 miles, and we'll take it slowly. It is a mixture of grassy fields (muddy when wet), road walking and a bit of woodland.
