What we’re about
Yalla is a community for North African and Middle Eastern people looking to connect, laugh, and thrive together in the city. Whether you're from the sands of the Sahara or the streets of Beirut, this is your space.
We welcome Arabic-speaking people from all walks. If your world blends Arabic and French, Arabic and English, or all three, you’re our people. Our goal is to bring together the best of the Maghreb and Mashreq, from Agadir to Gaza, from Tunis to Salalah.
Expect a mix of hikes, picnics, café crawls, music festivals, spontaneous hangouts, and whatever other good moments we create together. If you're craving real conversation, shared roots, and a crew that just gets it, this is for you.
Whether you dreamed of a chill meetup, a community that feels like home, or a new circle of friends who speak your rhythm, me fi wa9t lel malal.
This is your call! Yalla!

See all- Yalla to the Island – Easy Walk, Late Lunchjack layton ferry terminal, toronto , ON
The city gets loud, the week gets long, but just a short ferry ride away, Toronto Island is waiting for us with open skies and calm energy.
Join us for a full afternoon of wandering, connecting, and discovering the islands in full spring bloom. We’ll walk the loop together, take in views of Lake Ontario, pass beaches, bridges, and sleepy cottages, and let the convo flow along the way.🗓 The Plan
- Meet at Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at 11:45 AM
- Take the 12:10 PM ferry together (buy tickets online through the City of Toronto site)
- Walk the entire island loop (~8 km, easy pace)
- Stop for pics, chats, and mini breaks
- End the walk at a cozy café or a sunny picnic spot – we’ll decide closer to the date. Options may include:
- The Riviera + Runaway Cafe
- The Island Cafe
⏰ Please be on time!
We’ll gather at 11:45 AM. We won’t be able to wait past 12:00 PM, so please plan ahead and arrive early. Late arrivals or messages after that may not be seen, as we’ll already be on the move.📋 What to bring
