We've been asked to yarn bomb the Manchester Flower Show again for the fourth year running. We must be doing something right!

The organiser said "We loved working with you last year, you symbolised Manchester so well! We would like to invite you again to become part of the Flower Festival 2024. We hope you’ll consider creating another lovely piece of art."

The Manchester Flower Festival is returning for four days during the final **May Bank holiday weekend Fri 24 – Mon 27 May** making Manchester bloom with the best of the city’s floristry and gardening talent. Professional florists, garden designers, gardening groups, charities and businesses across Manchester all come together to bring gorgeous floral displays and show gardens into the heart of the city.

**DATES**
It will be happening over the final May bank holiday Weekend. The live event days will the Friday 24th – Monday 27th May 2024, with the set up on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd May.

**THEMING**
This year’s theme is “Icons” inspired by excellent work last year that brought Manchester icons such as Hilda Ogden, Tony Wilson and Emmeline Pankhurst as well iconic buildings such as The Town Hall and even Manchester’s own icon – the Manchester Bee. This year we open the category to interpretation, you could pick a Manchester icon, an iconic figure from any creative industry, an icon that symbolises a city or a place. Also, it could be someone you hold personally as an icon in your company, personal life or who has had a big impression on your or it could be an iconic flower that inspires you.

I am hoping we can do the flat panels again on the railings outside Marks and Spencer and as soon as they confirm, I'll add the sizes to work towards. Don't worry if your panel is an inch out, we made it all fit last year. When put together it will be one big image of everything we love about Manchester.

They are looking for a big community effort to make the city look fabulous ... and we can be part of it.

This date isn't an event to attend, just an approximate time when we need to have received all your wonderful makes. A few of us will then need to meet in town to install it on the morning of Thursday 23 May so please let me know if you are free during the day to help.
