YCDP Monthly Meeting Featuring New ADP Chair Raquel Terán

Details
Raquel Terán, the newly-elected Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, will talk about plans for 2021. She is a Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives who has represented District 30 since January 14, 2019. Born in Douglas, Arizona, her citizenship was challenged in court by an anti-immigration advocate in 2012, and again after her 2018 election. The lawsuits were both dismissed. Terán was a leader of the Latino-led movement that organized a decade ago following the passage of SB1070, a state law that targeted people living in the country illegally. She worked on successful efforts to recall the bill’s sponsor, former Sen. Russell Pearce, and defeat Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
