Doughton Park: Flat Rock Ridge and Grassy Gap Trails

Please join me for this strenuous hike at Doughton Park on Monday morning for a proper Memorial Day hike. We will begin at the trailhead off of Longbottom Rd and will ascend the Blue Ridge escarpment via the Flat Rock Ridge trail. We will stop for a snack at Bell Knob before pressing on to the Basin Cove overlook where we will have lunch. We will use the Bluff Mountain trail/MST to reach Grassy Gap Fire Road and we will return to our cars via Grassy Gap.

Please bring plenty of water (at least two liters), lunch and a snack. Along Grassy Gap, we will have roughly four stream crossings, so trekking poles are highly recommended. I look forward to this Memorial Day hike with you all!
