Lake Norman: Hicks Creek and Norwood Creek Paddle

Where the glistening waters of the mighty Catawba dam and pond, please come join me for a delightful Sunday afternoon paddle at Lake Norman State Park.

Together, we will enjoy a moderately paced paddle up around the Hick’s Creek section of Lake Norman State Park. We will put in at the launch site on Boat Launch Dr and enjoy a late lunch at the confluence of Norwood Creek and Hicks Creek where there are lovely beaches for us to moor and a nice, firm picnic table to host our lunches.

After the paddle, please join me for a crisp beer and a savory food truck bite at the King Canary, located just a little further south, just off I-40.

Unfortunately, while the state park does offer rentals, they do not allow people to portage/transport the rentals to the area where we will be paddling. Participants will need to bring their own kayaks/paddle boards/canoes. I look forward to seeing you all there!
