Stone Mountain: Classic Loop

Come away with me to my cradle of humble origin! Within the embrace of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I plan to lead a hike at Stone Mountain State Park. Our journey will begin at the backpacker's parking lot at 9:00 am, where we will hike our way up along the MST, down Wolf Rock, over Stone Mountain, over Cedar Rock, and back to Wolf Rock, and from thence down the MST back to our vehicles.

I've a feeling the sun will promise to be kind during the merry month of June and with luck, we will be surrounded by the beautiful white blooms of the Great Rhododendrons and serenaded by the calming babble of the Big Sandy Creek.

I plan to hold a social hour at the Railyard, in downtown Elkin, after the hike for a proper “trail cap” and would love for everyone to join me who can.
