| Alberto Barsellini |
| ------------------ |
| Alberto Barsellini is an Argentine Tango teacher, performer, and researcher with more than two decades of international experience across South America, Australia, Europe, and Asia. Originally trained in Systems Analysis, Alberto brings an analytical approach to tango, developing a structured and accessible teaching methodology that helps dancers understand movement, connection, musicality, and improvisation — and apply them confidently on real Buenos Aires dance floors. |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Throughout his career, Alberto has achieved top placements in major Argentine tango competitions, including 2nd and 3rd place in the Senior Category of the Metropolitan Championship of Buenos Aires, and first place at the Zárate Tango Championship. He also reached the semifinals of the World Tango Championship (Mundial de Tango) and has performed at renowned Buenos Aires milongas including Sunderland and Parakultural. |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Alberto’s work also extends into community and therapeutic settings. In Sydney, he collaborated with STARTTS (NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors), exploring tango as a space for connection, embodied expression, and social engagement among refugees and survivors of torture. He presented this work at the ANZRTRRC International Conference. |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| As a teacher, Alberto works with dancers of all levels, with particular emphasis on partner connection, musicality, improvisation, and navigation of the social dance floor. His approach combines technical structure with the realities of Argentine Tango as a constantly changing social dance: different partners, different music, different spaces, and the need to communicate through movement in real time. |
| --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| His goal is to give dancers the understanding, confidence, and practical skills to participate fully in the social world of Argentine Tango. |
