Bitcoin Hack Day

The Bitcoin Hack Day is an opportunity to break out of your normal routine and get to working on that project you have been wanting to. This is a casual event where there are no rules other than to show up with your laptop and a plan to get productive.

All types are welcome and your project doesn't have to be anything technical or complex. Come and be in the presence of other people with enthusiasm for the same technology and be part of a supportive, constructive community of builders. See what other people are doing and learn and show off your project and share what you are learning to others. Ask questions and answer questions. Give help and get help.

There will be people around that have a variety of experience in general computer stuff, Bitcoin node software, Lightning Network, Raspberry Pis, Electronics, Web Development, 3D Printing, Game Development, Python/Javascript/C/C++/C#/Java/etc., Cryptography, Private Key management, Git/GitHub/GitLab, Linux, e-commerce, Open Source, etc. The community would be happy to lend some knowledge for getting past hurdles.

Arriving and leaving at any time during the hours is perfectly fine. Bring a lunch, or plan to participate in a lunch outing on Whyte Ave.

The Bitcoin Hack Day is hosted by the Edmonton Bitcoin Association (https://edmontonbitcoin.org) which also hosts the Bitcoin Beginners Meetup on the second Tuesday of every month and the Edmonton Bitcoin Meetup on the third Wednesday of every month. We are a community of Bitcoin enthusiasts that want to help each other out and see a vibrant scene and industry grow and thrive here in Edmonton.

Another Bitcoin Hack Day is planned for March 23rd, 9am-5pm and we intend on continuing this as a regular event through 2019.
