🛶 The Plan
Come paddle through one of the wildest and most biodiverse corners of the Costa Brava! 🦅🛶We'll kayak along the final stretch of the Fluvià River, skimming the edge of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park, one of the most important wetlands in Catalonia. The route passes by l’Illa de Caramany, a protected nature reserve, and flows into the sea at the stunning Bay of Roses, recognized as one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
As we glide through this unique ecosystem, we’ll observe a variety of wetland, dune, forest and coastal birds and explanations from specialized kayak instructors trained through the SEO BirdLife - Iberaves program.
Once we reach the bay, we’ll make a stop to spot seabirds and enjoy the landscape before returning. All bird sightings will be logged in **ornitho.cat**, contributing to citizen science.
This is a one-of-a-kind eco-tourism experience that combines birdwatching, kayaking, and environmental awareness.

🚗 How do we get there?
We will go by shared car from Barcelona. During the registration process, we'll ask you if you have a car and how many people you can take with you. Passengers will share gas expenses with the driver (€20 per passenger).

🎒 Bring

• Closed shoes that can get wet (old sneakers, crocs, water shoes…)
• Swimsuit or shorts you don’t mind getting wet
• T-shirt (preferably thermal or lycra)
• Towel and change of clothes for after the activity
• Strap for glasses if needed
• Sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, hat)
• Water to stay hydrated

🛶 El Plan

¡Ven a remar por uno de los rincones más salvajes y biodiversos de la Costa Brava! 🦅🛶Navegaremos en kayak por el tramo final del río Fluvià, bordeando el Parque Natural de los Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, uno de los humedales más importantes de Cataluña. La ruta pasa por l’Illa de Caramany, una reserva natural integral, hasta llegar a la espectacular Bahía de Roses, considerada una de las más bonitas del mundo.
Durante la travesía, observaremos aves propias del bosque de ribera, dunas, zonas húmedas y litoral mediterráneo, con la ayuda de fichas identificativas y las explicaciones de monitores especializados en kayak formados a través del programa SEO BirdLife – Iberaves.
Al llegar a la bahía, haremos una parada para observar aves marinas y disfrutar del paisaje antes de regresar. Todas las observaciones se registrarán en ornitho.cat, contribuyendo así a la ciencia ciudadana.
Una experiencia única de ecoturismo que combina navegación, observación de aves y conexión con la naturaleza.

🚗 ¿Cómo llegamos allí?
Iremos en coches compartidos desde Barcelona. Durante el proceso de inscripción, te preguntaremos si tienes coche y cuántas personas puedes llevar. Los pasajeros compartirán los gastos de gasolina con el conductor (20 € por persona).

🎒 ¿Qué llevar?

• Calzado cerrado que se pueda mojar (zapatillas viejas, crocs, escarpines…)
• Bañador o pantalón corto que se pueda mojar
• Camiseta (mejor si es térmica o de licra)
• Toalla y ropa de recambio para después de la actividad
• Cinta para sujetar las gafas (si llevas)
• Protección solar (gafas de sol, crema solar, gorra)
• Agua para hidratarte
