What might happen, in our community and around the world, if once a month—on 10/10, 11/11, 12/12 etc.—we encouraged each other to do one thing to make our corner of the world a bit better?

That's exactly what Ami Dar, founder of idealist.org asked, and this is Portland's answer.

We are Portland's startup founders. We are Portland's social entrepreneurs. We are Portland's business owners. We make business, and we make business do good things.

First, we're going gather at the asscrack of the morning (7:00am) at Portland's infamous Fuller's Coffee Shop.

Opened in 1947, with their all-business Formica countertops, chrome stools, and a one-page double-sided menu, they are the city’s undeniable master of this classic American breakfast plate.

Around 8:00am after some great chow and way too much caffeine we're going to lumber our way over to New Avenues for Youth (314 SW 9th Ave Portland, OR 97205) and meet with some of the team behind two great social enterprises: Ben & Jerry's Partnershop and New Avenues Ink. (Fuller's to New Avenues is about a five minute walk)

From 8:30am to 9:30am we'll hear from the social enterprise team, what's working and where they could use some help. Our group, strong in entrepreneur and founder street cred, will offer ideas to increase revenue and overall positive impact (with the total understanding they are running two businesses dealing with life situations many of us have not had to face)

- Event tickets: $35
- Includes $15 towards breakfast, $5 for a tip, $7.50 to New Avenues, $7.50 to Kiva
- Space is limited to 17

17 folks @ $15 breakfast = $255 to Fuller's

17 folks @ $5 tip = $85 tip

$130 to New Avenues for Youth, they can direct how they want the funds spent

5 women entrepreneurs in developing countries supported

11,106 current founders supported on 10/9/25 and will grow to 11,111 after October 9th

See you there,
