Peace and Love:
If you are receiving this email, it means you were in a yoga class with me sometime this year. I am sending this email out only to you, a select group, to begin a new special journey with me.
gilliganAs some of you may know, this month while many people were snowed in their houses, I was "snowed out" of Baltimore in a paradise I am looking forward to sharing with you. I was practicing meditation and yoga where water lapped at my feet and the balmy air warmed my skin, on some of the most beautiful virgin beaches I have ever seen. Some of the beaches had large waves that crashed through boulders and created trickling waterfalls, while others were placid and sparkling with fish and colorful plantlife. These beaches were on the north and west coast of Puerto Rico, where my boyfriend and I were preparing a sweet 3 bedroom country house for future yoga retreats. Here's a great Youtube Video of Mar Chiquita, one of the truly unique beaches we will visit again soon.
waterYoga and meditation turn the mind inward. And you can be as happy sitting on a rock in the middle of a crowded city as you can in a tropical paradise. But in this fast paced world where the mind is stimulated with subliminal aggression and the lungs poluted with toxins, people are getting lost - even in yoga classes - thinking that even yoga is a competitive sport. Practicing yoga in a clean environment with pure life force in the water and air can revitalize, refresh, and simplify your yoga and meditation practice. For me, traveling to such places reminds me of what is truly important. It reminds me to live fully - that I don't need to work until I'm old, tired, and retired to enjoy this earth untouched by greed. I am filled with gratitude for the priceless beauty of pure vital energy and I fall back into rhythm with nature, into realization of who I am.
hatillo house
The country house we have prepared can fit 6 people sleeping. If you are receiving this email, you are one of the first people I am inviting to  join me for a 5 day excursion that you will remember for the rest of your life. We will practice yoga/meditaiton twice each day - once in the country house (perhaps outside on the porch) and once in the lap of luxerious mother nature. We will visit nearly empty beaches, areas of rainforest, and nearby caves - and rejuvinate ourselves in these environments. Check out this Youtube Video of El Yunque (the rainforest). We will visit not the tourist areas, but the secret spots that only locals who have really searched the island could show you. You've got my partner, (an experienced local), an 8 person van, a quaint house, me your yoga teacher  and plenty of time to commune with nature as well. This will be a unique experience of Puerto Rico, outside of the tourist areas.
I am opening this up to you, students who have attended yoga with me this year and your families only for the first retreat.
