What we’re about

At Yoga for Men we believe that the social stigma of Yoga being "atypical" for Men has already been broken. But starting to practice Yoga can still mean to many Men that you have to leave your comfort zone. We want to create a group that makes it easier to make the first step. We practice in an environment that is open for anybody. No matter your level of experience, we are all here with the same goal. To feel good in our body, encourage each other and to experience the benefits of Yoga.

We practice a simplified version of Ashtanga Yoga that is a little less intense on shoulders and knees than the original and is easier to get into as a beginner but still repairs the body methodically and prepares you for the most iconic Yoga position, the full-lotus seat.

We practice Yoga as a physical exercise with mental health benefits but not as a spiritual tradition.

Who leads the group?

This group is led by Piotr who has been practicing Yoga for over ten years as a complementary exercise to his climbing. He has learned Ashtanga Yoga from various teachers in Berlin and has since adapted what he learned to fit the specific need of keeping the body pain free and mobile and to speed up recovery. Nowadays he both climbs and practices Yoga daily.

How does it work?

The practice takes about 60 min and afterwards you can either continue with the rest of your day or stay a little longer to ask questions about your practice or get to know the other men over tea.

Do I need anything to start?

You do not need any prior knowledge and if you do not have your own Yoga mat we provide one for you.

What if I am not sure this is for me?

From personal experience I know that especially men can be very hesitant to try Yoga for the first time even though they might feel that it could be a game changer for their lives. Believe me, I've been there. If I didn't have friends who actively convinced me to try I would have missed out. So please write me a message if you are curious so I can make an effort to get you to come and participate!
