Join us for a new evening series, focused on the practice of svadhyaya (Self-study).

Svadhyaya, which is one of the Niyamas (observances) practiced in Ashtanga Yoga, helps us to mindfully introspect, to see our own patterns, and to study the Self through sacred/inspirational scriptures.

We'll gather together for a breathing meditation, a journaling period for reflection, and a short reading and discussion of a classic Indian spiritual text, such as the Upanishads, Gita, or another text.

For the 11/12 meeting, I'll bring an Upanishad to share.

Things to Bring:

  • comfortable meditation cushion or chair
  • journal & pen

Optional: If you would like to practice a simple aarti (light offering) with us, bring a candle and a lighter.

Donations: This session is freely offered. Donations are gratefully accepted, and help keep our group going. If you'd like to make a donation through Paypal, please direct message me.

Zoom link: The Zoom link and passcode will be sent to your Meetup direct messages the day of the meeting. This is the "Messages" section of meetup.
