We are excited to host Bhanu Swami, a traveling monk, scholar and author, for the first time atThe Loft. He will be discussing the juicy topic of karma. Some people suffer in this lifetime; sometimes they lose money, sometimes they get sick, sometimes they have accidents or some other catastrophe in life and then they wonder: “What caused this? I didn’t do anything wrong.”

If everything is determined by our previous acts, then what free will do we have now? We do have karma, but we do have free will as well. By the choices we make, we can improve both our present and our future.

Bring your curiosity along and ofcourse your appetite for a delicious, all you can eat feast :)

Speaker: Bhanu Swami holds a BA Degree in Oriental Fine Arts History from the University of British Colombia. His spiritual journey began while studying fine arts in Japan, where he began pursuing his interest in self-realization and meditation.

Bhanu Swami is a quiet achiever and has studied a variety of disciplines, including martial arts, reiki healing, and Karnatic music.

As an accomplished author and Sanskrit scholar, he has translated into English and published one hundred and sixty three important literatures from the ancient Vedic and yoga tradition.

As a monk he spends his life traveling in order to share these teachings, which offer holistic perspectives on the problems faced by the world today.
