About the Winter Solstice
When we look at the structure of the year we have four important moments over one yearly cycle: two equinoxes – the spring equinox and the autumn equinox – and two solstices – one in the summer and one in the winter.
These four moments are related first of all to astronomical events, namely to the manner in which the Earth moves around the Sun and the axis that the Earth has around the sun.
Thus, Winter Solstice represents one of these four fundamental points of discontinuity (hiatus) in the yearly solar cycle marking certain stages of the evolution of the human being. At this moment, directly proportional with our openness and superior receptivity, we can be permanently “infused” with sublime, elevated, godly energy, in order to expedite the process of spiritual completion.
In the esoteric tradition, this longest night of the year cycle represents a moment of “utmost darkness” (the peak of YIN energies) signifying the spiritual night, which, according to planetary vibrations, plays the mysterious role of a “spiritual window” – the dawn of a new cycle of evolution in our lives, heralding the rising of the light (YANG energies).
Traditionally called YULE in the Northern traditions of our planet, the Winter Solstice represents a wonderful occasion to come together and celebrate the time of rebirth of the light – on planetary level and in our lives.
About the event
The program will consist of a general presentation on the significance of the Winter Solstice followed by a meditation to tune in with the subtle sphere of force active in this special time.
Optionally, and weather-permitting, we may also be able to enjoy a small bonfire – sitting around the fire like our ancestors used to do :)
- Lecture: 14:30 to 15.30
- Meditation: 15:40 to 16:25 – Winter Solstice is at 16:03 CET, so we will meditate around this special moment :)
- Sharing and Conclusions: 16:30 to 17:00
