Daibutsu Hiking Trail

Spring is coming and the hills around Kamakura start to blossom.
On this hike, we’ll follow one of Kamakura most famous trails: the Daibutsu Hiking Trail including also the Daibutsu Kiridoshi Pass. Starting at Kita-Kamakura Station we will pass Tōkei-ji Shrine, the mysterious Urigayatsu Burial Grottos and climb Mt. Genji for a view on Mt. Fuji before taking a rest. (There are shops, sitting spots and toilets)
Here we will have a lunch break. You might bring your own bento or packed lunch.
From there er we visit the famous Zeniari-Benten and Sasuke Inari Shrines before we will enter the ancient Daibutsu Kiridoshi Pass, which has still been preserved in its original state.

This hike is a great choice for anyone interested in Kamakura’s rich past. While the trail is occasionally narrow, it’s not particularly challenging, making for an enjoyable and immersive walk.

After the hike, those who wish can unwind with a warm cup of coffee at a cozy café nearby.
No participation fee is charged for this event.

春が近づき、鎌倉周辺の丘陵地帯に花が咲き始める。
今回のハイキングでは、鎌倉で最も有名なコースのひとつである大仏ハイキングコース（大仏切通しを含む）をたどります。北鎌倉駅をスタートし、東慶寺、神秘的な瓜ヶ谷古墳群、源氏山に登り富士山を眺めた後、休憩する。(売店、休憩所、トイレあり）。
ここで昼食休憩。お弁当を持参してもよい。
そこから有名な銭洗弁天と佐助稲荷神社を参拝し、昔のままの姿を残す大仏切通しに入る。
このハイキングコースは、鎌倉の豊かな過去に興味がある人にお勧めのコースだ。トレイルは時折狭いところもあるが、特に難易度が高いというわけではなく、楽しく没頭できるウォーキングとなっている。
ハイキングの後は、近くのコンビニで買い出しをして、友人宅の庭でくつろぎましょう。
