🔰 Digital Cleanup – Learn how to cut CO2 with just one finger!

Did you know you can reduce 40 kg of CO₂ emissions just by deleting 10,000 emails?💨 Actually, data centres and networks that store them cause about 1% of the world’s energy-related CO₂ emissions!⚡️🏭💨

Like me, I bet many of you keep countless junk Emails(I have 53,378 today), tons of blurry photos, and bad quality videos for years🫨 Needless to say, excessive data usage is causing extreme summers🔥

In this session, we’ll take time to understand what "Digital waste" is, and learn how to reduce our own carbon footprint by only one finger👆

◯ What we do
While mingling with other members, we do:

1. Learn why storeing crappy data matters
2. List and visualise where our unnecery data is
3. Declutter unnecessary digital data includes: Junk Emails, videos, photos, unused accounts, old drafts, etc.
4. Roughly calculate how much CO2 emissions we cut together

*The cafe takes 90-min system at lunchtime.

• Anyone interested in this event, such as web devs, designers, editors, creators, educators, students, NGO, media people, etc.
• Industry and major really do not matter!

◯ Language

• English and/or Japanese, depending on the attendees. Please help each other.

• Laptop, smartphone, tablet, memory card as needed

• A vegan-friendly tiny cafe in Tsujido(辻堂)🧁🌯🥗

• 0 yen for the attendance fee
• Everyone must buy one drink or food item at the venue

◯ Wifi

• Usually good. Sometimes cutting. I'll bring a pocket wifi so 4 ppl should be all right.

◯ Attendance

• Minimum: 4 people
• Maximum: 6 people
• If fewer than 3 people RSVP by 5 days before the event, it will be cancelled.

• If cancelling within 24 hours, please contact the organiser
• People may be removed from the group for:
• No-shows
• Attending without RSVP
• Frequent last-minute cancellations
• Harassment, drugs, alcohol, or sharing conspiracy theories
