York Code Dojo September 2025 - To boldly go....

Details
The City of York has decided to enter the space program. However, due to very tight time constraints they have decided to outsource the programming of their flight computer to your company.
The computer is a custom-built machine, which runs York's Obscenely Dumb Architecture. (YODA)
Your task will be to program the machine to ensure the spaceship reaches the moon and doesn't come crashing down in the Ouse.
One thing.... in space your AI editor can't hear you scream.....
As usual we will be working in pairs/small groups on a set of guided tasks making the evening suitable for both beginners and experienced developers.
By the end of the evening you will have gained a basic understanding of how machine code works, and why people use assembly language instead!
If possible please bring a laptop with your programming language of choice installed.
NOTE: Refreshments will be provided :-) On RSVP please could we ask you to make us aware of any food allergies prior to your attendance.
