I’ve known about this tour for quite a while but never got around to booking it!

This is a chance to look at various parts of the Convent not generally available to the public, guided by a volunteer, and learn about the history of this beautiful architectural building including the ‘secret chapel’ and possibly the existence of a priest hole which pre-dates the building Apparently there is also the hand of the Martyr, Margaret Clitheroe on show which sounds gross but I’m sure is interesting to some. This is a working Convent so obviously private spaces are respected and not available.

Those who wish to visit the exhibits including the Arma Christa (a rare manuscript found in a shoebox in the convent and a mediaeval work of art in its own right) are able to do so at a cost of £9.50 or £7.50 for concessions.

Lunch is booked in the Victorian Conservatory on the ground floor.
