We continue our “third Friday of the month” themed evenings and, by request, our next visit is to Los Moros, serving North African cuisine!

It may turn out to be a very quick visit to this part of the world unless anyone can find me North African restaurants in York (or elsewhere).

We then discuss how anglicised/authentic we found the experience, marks out of 10, and the cuisines we would like to try going forward.

RESTAURANT OF INFO

“Founded in 2015 by Tarik Abdeladim, we began in a small gold shed in the Shambles Market. After three years of cooking and learning we opened our restaurant.

Los Moros means ‘the Moors’ in Spanish. It’s a loose term and has come to mean many different people, from the Arabs, Berbers and the Jewish people who lived in Andalusia in the Middle Ages. We chose the name because the culinary heritage of North African cuisine is partly influenced by those different cultures, and our menu is full of these flavours and ideas.”
