14th January 2026 - Yorkshire Azure User Group #42
Details
Hello and welcome to the January Yorkshire Azure User Group event!
For those that are new to our community, we are a diverse technical community hosting events across South Yorkshire on a monthly basis with some of the best minds in the industry. Everyone is welcome regardless of technical background, so feel free to join us for the evening - if you have any questions, just reach out to one of the organisers!
This month's event is hosted by our good friends over at Hippo Digital in Leeds - the venue is only a few minutes' walk from Leeds station. As usual food and drink will be provided.
Session #1: Build First, Talk Later: How I prototype my way out of endless meetings with Marcus Robinson,
Marcus Robinson, a Solution Engineer at Microsoft working in the health industry, shares how he’s used Azure‑based prototyping and AI‑assisted engineering to avoid months of meetings and bring working solutions into early conversations.
The session covers Marcus’ journey into health tech, why delivery in regulated environments is hard and getting harder, and how he's used prototyping - including demos - to help teams make decisions faster.
Session #2: Securing on-prem using Microsoft 365
Liam O'Donnell is an IT Technical Support Lead / Global cyber security for DEC-Group who will be joining us to show the steps DEC-Group took to move management and security from on-prem AD to 365.
As always, we are grateful for all our speakers & sponsors for helping us keep this community alive - if you'd like to sponsor or speak at an event yourself, please reach out to one of the committee members on LinkedIn.
