Bishopthorpe - Acaster Malbis - 4.5 miles

NEW WALK!! A shortened version of another walk I’ve led and a new one for the evening walks season!

Starting from Bishopthorpe, we head on down Ferry Lane to meet the river Ouse, which we follow all the way to Acaster Malbis. From here, we pass/go through caravan parks and then across fields to meet the Solar System Greenway, through a housing development and back to our start point via Bishopthorpe Main Street and welcome refreshment.

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £2. No dogs please.

Meeting point: from the Main Street, take the turn into Acaster Lane and park along the roadside. We will meet in front of the small rank of shops not far from this junction – just past the turning for Ferry Lane/The Boatyard café. Postcode is YO23 2SJ.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
