Three Nighter in North Wales: 19/20/21 June 2025

We are heading off to the Land of Castles, Lakes & Mountains and where two languages are spoken and widely displayed! The attractive, bustling village of Betws-y-Coed is the official gateway to Snowdonia/Eryri National Park. Its central position means a variety of desirable locations are within easy reach. Some are right on our doorstep, others involve a scenic, even dramatic drive!

Our three-night stay will be a mixture of walking, sightseeing & free time.

Eligibility: Anyone is free to request one of the limited places available, providing you are a Group member and have attended at least one walk with the Group. All RSVPs will initially be diverted to a Waiting List, pending allocation of places at the end of July. Those not initially allocated a place will remain on the WL as I’m sure there will be changes in the attendee list between now and next June!

Accomodation: Royal Oak Hotel, Holyhead Road, Betws-y-Coed, Snowdonia NP, Wales, LL24 0AY. Tel 01690-710219. A former Victorian coaching inn, its central location in the village is ideal for a short break. All rooms are en-suite, there is free parking, bars, dining areas and everyone has their own key!

Room types/preferences:
Twins £255pp
Doubles £255pp
Sole occupancy £405 (£50 per night room supplement)

Most rooms have a shower over the bath, there are a very small number of walk-in showers.
The cost includes a three-night stay, three breakfasts and parking.

Evening meals: we are booked in for meals on the second & third nights: £30 per three-course meal with three choices per course & dietary requirements catered for.

Deposit: the deposit payable will comprise 10% of the room cost, my booking fee & the cost of the scenic train ride (needs to be booked in advance to get the group discount and our own carriage!).

The deposit is non-refundable. Therefore, once the funds have been paid over to the Hotel, you would only receive a refund if there is someone ‘available & suitable’ to take your place.

Booking fee: £20. This is levied to cover the costs of arranging the trip and therefore is also non-refundable unless a suitable replacement is available.

Walks:
Please refer to individual walk events on website. The walks have been chosen with a mixed ability group in mind.

Group Price/Discounts
The accommodation costs quoted are based on our Group filling a minimum number of rooms for a three night stay. The Lake Padarn Steam Railway group discount is also based on a minimum numbers requirement.

Cancellation Terms
Once your deposit has been transferred to me and paid over to the Hotel, its non-refundable, unless someone ‘available & suitable’ can take your place.
If you cancel your place within one month of the event, you will only be refunded 50% of the full balance paid.
If you cancel within one week of the event, no refund will be made.
Please also note that all cancellations within the above timeframe, have to be confirmed in writing at the request of the Hotel.

- RSVP in order to be placed on the waiting list ahead of places being allocated.
- Advise preferences re room type & whether walk-in shower is preferable (but not guaranteed).
- If requesting a sole occupancy room, please advise me if there is any particular reason for doing so (in confidence).
- If happy with a twin, please advise if there is anyone in particular you would like to share with.
- Advise of any dietary requirements.

Once places have been allocated, deposit payments will be required by 31 August.
