Itinerary (subject to amendment!)

Thursday (arrival day):
3pm Check-in
3.30pm Walk to Swallow Falls (free)
5.45pm Pizzeria (if joining me) or Chippy, Abassi’s Indian restaurant or The Stables (adjacent to the Hotel). Then meet for drinks at The Stables Bar

Friday:
8.15am Breakfast
9.15am Meet in hotel bar area to arrange car shares to Ogwen Cottage Visitor Centre (car park fee £3).
10am Llyn Idwal walk and then have our packed lunches plus have a look inside the visitor centre.
1pm Drive to Conwy Falls car park (free) and complete the short loop to the Falls (entrance fee £2). Then do the walk to Fairy Glen (entrance fee £1) followed by refreshment at the Falls tea room.
3.30pm Arrive back at the hotel.
* The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the village or maybe pop along to the zip wire (close to the village)!!
6.30pm Evening meal in the private dining room at the hotel.

Saturday:
8.15am Breakfast
9.15am Meet in hotel bar area and arrange car shares to Llanberis
Llanberis morning: (car park fee £5)
10.15am Dolbadarn Castle (free)
11.00am Lake Padarn Steam Railway (already paid in advance to obtain Group discount)
Llanberis afternoon:
Lunch at Snowdonia Water Sports (car park fee £2)
The Lonely Tree (free)
Sword of Giants (free)
Later:
Llyn Elsi walk from our Hotel (free)
6.30pm Evening meal in the private dining room at the hotel

Sunday (departure day):
Check-out time by 10.30am.

A variety of trips on offer before heading for home:

Bodnant Garden (National Trust) – apparently the most spectacular gardens in the UK!! £16. 12 miles from BYC and on the road home.

Llandudno – a variety of things to do in this coastal resort.

Conwy Castle – World Heritage site. £12.50 or Seniors (65+) £11.90.

Maybe a trip back to Llanberis for a train ride up to the top of Snowdon? 2.5 hour round trip incl 30min stopover at the summit visitor centre. Heritage steam railway experience £55 return or traditional diesel service £42 return.

Portmeirion – interesting architectural delight, an Italian village on the Welsh coast! The 60s tv series The Prisoner was filmed there. £20 or Seniors (60+) £16.

Other places include:
Blaenau Ffestiniog slate mines, steam railway to Porthmadog & the Bay Area.
Harlech Castle.
Caernarfon Castle.
and in the immediate locality, there is Dolwddelan Castle, Capel Garmon Ancient Burial Ground & Ty Hyll/Ugly House tearoom.
