Ripley Roam: The Bluebell Walk - 4.5 miles

Ripley Woods look gorgeous when the bluebells are in bloom so hopefully this walk coincides with them at their glorious best!

Pleasant countryside walk making use of woodland paths and tracks, country lanes and field walking. Be prepared for the ground to be soft underfoot in places and possibly a bit muddy when we walk across the fields.

MEETING POINT: Ripley village centre by the stone monument in front of the Boars Head (see photo). Postcode is HG3 3AY.

PARKING: Hopefully we will all find (free) parking spaces on the village streets and elsewhere. However, pay & display parking is also available in the main village car park and in the area around by the castle and tea room. Parking charges apply at all times. For the car park its £2 for three hours and you can obtain a partial refund when purchasing after-walk refreshment. Toilets available in the main car park and, if not staying in the car park, you have 10/15mins free parking in order to use the facilities!

Walk fee: £2. No dogs please.

After-walk refreshment at the Boers Head. You will need to change your footwear before going into this place!

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
