Stillington Stroll - 4 miles

Details

NEW WALK!! A simple stroll in the flat countryside to the north of York. Stillington is located 11 miles from York city centre.

Mainly traversing farming countryside as well as crossing the infant river Foss on a couple of occasions with long views over the countryside and woodland trails too. The final section of the walk takes us along the attractive main street which has a range of buildings from varying ages and architectural styles, one of which is our ‘resting place’ following completion of the walk!

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £2. No dogs please. Bring snacks/drink for a short morning break.

After-walk refreshment at The White Bear pub.

Meeting point: at one end of the main street, you will find the village hall sited at the top of the village green. We will meet outside the village hall. The road that runs down the side of the Hall is the best place to park – down one side of the village green and further down this road as well - although you could park along the main street too. Postcode is YO61 1JX.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
