A return to the much-liked guest house in Grasmere where we had an enjoyable two night stay a few years ago.

Grasmere is a pleasant Lakeland village situated in the heart of the Lake District with a meandering main street, which takes its time to work its way around the hotels, café’s, gift shops and outdoor retailers. Its home to the famous Grasmere gingerbread and William Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage and his burial site. Our accommodation is a short walk away from the village centre in a Victorian country house & annexe in a
peaceful setting surrounded by a dramatic & beautiful landscape.

Eligibility/Booking conditions
This event is open to anyone who has paid their £10 annual membership fee this year and is prepared to do so next year.

Initially when you RSVP, you will automatically be diverted to a Waiting List pending allocation of the available places. For this reason, the event will say ‘full’ even though you will still be able to RSVP. Places will be allocated after the RSVP deadline noted above and will be based on room preferences/compatability (who can share with who!), male/female split & attendance records (including number of withdrawals).

Room types
We have 29 places available to us spread across single, twin and double rooms. With the exception of two single rooms that share a bathroom, all rooms are en-suite. Most rooms have a shower rather than a bath and come with storage, hanging, tea/coffee-making facilities. Bed linen, towels, handwash are provided, you will need to bring shampoo/shower gel.

Evening meals
These are served at a fixed time of 7pm and we have reservations for a three course meal on both evenings. You order your choices at the tables and dietary requirements are catered for.

Breakfasts
Set time of 8.15am. You can help yourself to continental items and/or order a cooked breakfast at the tables.

Parking/Walks/Sunday Lunch
In total, the guest house has 45 beds and the car park can hold 27 cars so car sharing is recommended if at all possible.

Saturday’s walk is a 25/30min drive away, Sunday’s is from the guest house. See walk details on separate entries uploaded to the website.

Sunday lunch has been booked at the nearby Swan Hotel (part of the Inn Collection Group).

Cancellation terms
Once your deposit funds have been paid over to the guest house, you can only expect them to be refunded if someone is available & suitable to take your place. As my booking fee covers the costs of organising the weekend away, the same applies to this. The guest house will not refund any funds paid (deposit/final balance) if you pull out less than 14 days before the event.

An ‘all you need to know’ information sheet will be e-mailed to all attendees a couple of weeks in advance of the event.

Costs
Accomodation: two nights en-suite, two three course evening meals, two breakfasts, parking £242pp.
The above price is reduced to £186pp if you are in a single room sharing the bathroom with one other person in our Group.
Complimentary tea & cakes at 4.30pm each day.
Tea/coffee/biscuits always available in the foyer.
Booking fee to cover my costs: £20.
Plus the cost of Sunday lunch - a booking has been made for the entire group

IMMEDIATE ACTIONS REQUIRED BY YOU
RSVP to be added to the Waiting List pending allocation of places.

If you are allocated a place, the deposit (10%) & booking fee (£20) should be transferred to me by the deadline noted above.

Please advise of any dietary requirements I will need to forward to the guest house.

Please advise of any preferences regarding room type/who to share with – this should be done when you RSVP, not after the rooms have been allocated!!

If requesting a single room, please send a private message (in confidence) if there is a particular reason for your request.

Please also advise if you are happy to have one of the two single rooms that share a bathroom – the two bedrooms & bathroom are next to each other down a corridor, not used by anyone else. This will reduce the cost as noted above. If nobody wants these rooms, this will mean two fewer places available to the Group.
