PLEASE NOTE EARLIER START TIME
An easy, pleasant stroll visiting two picturesque villages. The remainder of the walk comprises field paths & tracks and 1.5m walking along a quiet lane.
Green Hammerton is easily accessible from a variety of directions. Its located just off the A59 between York & Harrogate and is a short distance from both Boroughbridge & Knaresborough and is also close to the A1 corridor.
We will meet outside the Bay Horse pub in G.H., which is along the main street. There is plenty of roadside parking in the area.
The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.
Walk fee: £3. No dogs please, Bring snacks/drink only with you as we’ll be finished by lunch-time.
LUNCH OPTION
I have booked a table for 16 people at 1pm at the Anchor in Whixley. We have eaten here on previous occasions and the carvery is excellent. Other options are available too for a set price. If you wish to reserve a place, please post a comment on this page. Please note the lunch option is only available to those who have paid their annual membership fee and no guests are permitted on this walk.
I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
