Appleton Roebuck to Bolton Percy + lunch option (see below) - 6 miles
Details
An easy, flat ramble between these two villages just off the A64 between York & Leeds. The walk uses quiet roads, access roads, country tracks, field edge paths, riverside & woodland walking. The only ascent is over two railway bridges!
The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.
Walk fee: £2. No dogs please. Bring snack/drink for a short morning break.
Start point: outside the Roebuck Inn on Main Street. Roadside parking. Postcode is YO23 7DG.
After-walk refreshment: The pubs in Appleton Roebuck & Bolton Percy are closed so we’ll be giving our custom to the pleasant Doyly's tearoom in Bolton Percy, a short drive from our start point, which has both indoor & outdoor seating.
PLEASE NOTE: It will be necessary to make a group booking at the tearoom which I shall be doing when the venue is next open. Therefore if you wish to reserve a place for the after-walk refreshment, please post a message on this webpage. This option is only available to those who have paid their annual membership fee.
I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
