Sicklinghall - Kirkby Overblow: 6 miles + Lunch Option (see below)
Details
We traverse rolling countryside from the affluent village of Sicklinghall (near Wetherby)m making use of field paths & crossings, country tracks and quiet roads as well as walking through parts of the two villages. The walk just happens to start/finish at a very nice pub!
The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.
Walk fee: £3. No dogs please. Bring snacks/drink only as we’ll be finished by lunch-time.
Parking: we have permission to use the pub car park but only if you are coming into the pub afterwards, otherwise its roadside parking. If using the pub car park, please only use the spaces on the lhs as you enter the car park – this amounts to parking for about a dozen cars.
Start point: Scotts Arms, Sicklinghall, LS22 4BD.
Please consider car sharing to reduce the space we take up on the village street.
LUNCH OPTION: I have made a lunch reservation for 16 people at 1pm in this lovely rustic pub. If you would like to reserve a place, please post a message on this webpage. Please note pre-booked lunch places are only available to those who have paid their annual membership fee and therefore no guests are permitted.
I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
