This easy walk takes place across land located between the A1 and Knaresborough. Flaxby is signposted off the A59 when travelling either from the A1 end or from the direction of Knaresborough.

The route takes us along quiet roads, country tracks and across fields, ultimately finding ourselves in the village of Coneythorpe from where we make our way back to Flaxby. Depending on the weather at the time, there could be muddy sections.

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £2. No dogs please.

Start time/Parking: 10 for 10.15am so please aim for the earlier time to ensure we are parked up and ready to walk at 10.15. We will meet by the small village green in Flaxby, where there is roadside parking. Please car share if possible in order to reduce our impact on this small village. Postcode is HG5 0RR.

After the walk, it’s less than a mile by car back to Coneythorpe and the inviting Tiger Inn (see photo).

I have booked a table for 12 people at 12.15pm so if you would like to book a place for lunch, please post a comment on this page. Please note this option is only available to Group members who have paid their annual membership fee so no guests permitted on the meal.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the Group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
