PLEASE NOTE: Numbers are limited for this event due to the limited parking in the village. Therefore, this is being organised as a ‘packaged event’ meaning if you sign up for the walk, you are also signing up for the meal. This also means the event is open only to Group members who have paid their annual membership fee and so no guests are permitted.

NEW WALK!! A scenic, sometimes hilly walk in the North York Moors predominantly traversing moorland on generally good tracks, also descending a very steep surfaced road at Chimney Bank/Bank Top. We pass the Ana Cross and there is lovely scenery throughout the walk.

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £3. No dogs please. We will have two short breaks en route so we won’t starve before our pub meal!

Start point: Lastingham village green, a small area of grass in front of a house just around the corner from the pub. Limited roadside parking in the village hence the limit on numbers and car sharing is strongly advised. Postcode (of the pub) is YO62 6TN.

Start time: PROMPT 9.45am start to ensure we have a bit of time to sort ourselves out on completing the walk. If you’re not ready to start walking at the advertised time, you will have to catch us up! Please aim for the earlier time of 9.30 as you will need to place your lunch pre-order with the pub before we set off.

Post-walk meal: Blacksmiths Arms, Lastingham, a lovely rustic pub where we have eaten on previous occasions. On arrival for the walk, you will need to go into the pub to place your pre-order for your main course. No starters please!

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
