Hovingham - Slingsby - Fryton: 6.75 miles
Details
NEW WALK!! Another undemanding route for your pleasure in the Howardian Hills. A couple of gentle climbs in the first half as we traverse woodland trails before descending into the village of Slingsby and then our return route is through a succession of fields passing through the hamlet of Frytron. One gate to clamber over.
The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.
Walk fee: £3. No dogs please. Bring snacks/drink for a short, morning break.
Start point: Hovingham village hall car park. Donation box on the wall. Alternatively, roadside parking is available. Postcode is YO62 4LF.
PLEASE NOTE: No mobile phone reception in the area.
After-walk refreshment: No options available in Hovingham or Slingsby due to opening hours/refurbishment/closure! Therefore, best option is probably the White Horse Inn, Ampleforth which is a 12min drive - we'll take a vote on the day!
I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
