Wetherby Wander - 3.5 miles
Details
PROMPT START DUE TO LIMITED DAYLIGHT
Easy, short, flat walk. We will meet at the far end of the large Wilderness/Riverside car park (evening parking is still free as of 26/2, no toilets).
Initially our route takes us alongside the river Wharfe before veering off up a country lane and then alongside a field edge before picking up another track that takes us towards Wetherby racecourse. Here we pick up the old railway trackbed as we walk adjacent to the racecourse and back towards Wetherby itself.
The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.
Walk fee: £2. No dogs please.
After the walk, we will take the opportunity to patronise the new Wetherspoons in the former Angel Inn on the main street.
START LOCATION: The large car park runs alongside the river Wharfe very close to the road bridge that connects to the main street. The road that leads from the main street to the car park is called Bridge Foot – off a mini-roundabout (the car park is at the foot of the bridge!!).
The postcode for the car park is LS22 6LT.
I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
