Due to the popularity of this walk and as per last year, I'm also leading it as a daytime walk (for evening walk option, see previous entry).

Ripley Woods look gorgeous when the bluebells are in bloom so hopefully this walk coincides with them at their glorious best!

Pleasant countryside walk making use of woodland paths and tracks, country lanes and field walking. Be prepared for the ground to be soft underfoot in places and possibly a bit muddy when we walk across the fields.

MEETING POINT: Ripley village centre by the stone monument in front of the Boars Head (see photo). Postcode is HG3 3AY.

PARKING: Main car park on the edge of the village is pay & display: £2 for three hours. Parking also chargeable around by the castle and tea room. On production of your ticket, you can obtain a £1 refund when purchasing after-walk refreshment. Various free parking spaces dotted around the village.

Walk fee: £2. No dogs please.

After-walk refreshment at the newish cafe around the back of the Boers Head or the pub if you prefer.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and this group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
