Fountains Abbey to Markenfield Hall - 6.5 miles

Second run-out for this walk. A pleasant countryside wander, our route uses country lanes, field paths, grassy/country tracks & woodland trails. We will catch sight of the Abbey and other buildings on the Estate as well as Markenfield Hall. Included in this route are sections from previous walks I’ve led.

Start point: meet on the green area in front of the entrance to the Fountains Abbey Visitor Centre. Parking is free and toilets are available.

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £3. No dogs please. Bring snacks/drink for a morning break, we should be finished by 1.30pm.

After-walk refreshment at the Visitor Centre cafe where you can by cakes, snacks & lunches.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
