A walk not led since April 2021. An easy but pleasant saunter around the flat/gently undulating countryside just south of Boroughbridge. The village of Great Ouseburn is situated off the B6265, a few miles from the junction with the A59 York-Harrogate road.

The walk takes us through several villages with charming properties incl. Gt Ouseburn, Little Ouseburn, Marton cum Grafton & Upper Dunsforth. The first three villages are conservation areas. Our route utilises quiet lanes, country tracks, field paths & crossings. One gate to clamber over.

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £3. No dogs please. Bring packed lunch/drinks/snacks with you.

Start location: Great Ouseburn Village Hall car park (no toilets), located off Main Street behind the village green (small green triangle). On the green, you will see the Millenium Stone protected by a shelter - see photo.

After-walk refreshment: none in Great Ouseburn itself so we patronise (for the first time) the Bay Horse at Green Hammerton.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
