A short evening walk in York followed by a 'social' - 2.5 miles
Details
Second run-out for this walk. A pleasant little wander before we have a ‘social’ in one of York’s many hostelries!
The walk commences from outside the ‘Make It York’ Tourist Information Centre at the top of Parliament Street (the end closest to St Sampsons Square/St Helens Square). Postcode is YO1 8SG.
From our start point, we wind our way down to the riverside and take a stroll along the banks of the Ouse as far as Clifton Bridge. Having crossed the bridge, we pick up a trail on t’other side to head back downstream to Lendal Bridge where we ascend the steps, cross the bridge and head to our chosen watering hole!
The return leg by the riverside is partly on a grassy path but the rest of our route is on solid ground.
The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.
Walk fee: £2. No dogs please.
I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
