Details

A six mile circular covering the area of Killinghall, Knox, Bilton & Ripley. Our gently undulating route takes in sections of the Harrogate Ringway path, Nidderdale Greenway cycle route (the old railway trackbed), river Nidd and a viaduct!

The terrain encompasses riverside trails, fields, country lanes & tracks, quiet roads & pavements.

The walk will be led at a steady pace: not too fast, not too slow. Please be ready to start walking at the advertised time.

Walk fee: £3. No dogs please, Bring snacks/drink with you for a morning break, we’ll be finished by lunch-time.

After-walk refreshment in Ripley village, where there are pub & cafe options.

Ripley village parking/start point: we will meet near the toilet block in the large car park on the edge of the village. The walk will take three hours and parking costs £2.50 for four hours. This will give you an hour for after-walk refreshment or you may like to consider paying an extra £1 for longer parking. As far as I'm aware, you can still claim a £1 refund on the parking when using the pub or cafe's.

I have no formal walk leader or first-aid qualifications and the Group does not have insurance. When you RSVP for any walk, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. You are required to respect the walk leader and be mindful of the safety of others. Please keep to the pace of the group and don’t go off ahead even if you think you know the route.
