tribeDiaspore are hosting a tribute charity event for the world-renowned Nigerian musician and activist, Fela Kuti (pioneer of the Afrobeat genre) on Sunday 14th October '18 at the TheatrePeckham.
The event will consist of the following:
A talk from present and former members of Fela Kuti's Egypt 80 band;
Screening of the Finding Fela! documentary by Oscar-winning director, Alex Gibney; and
Gambian-Bajan streetfood fusion by Jamma Rekk.
Tickets are £10
All profits from the event will go to the TheatrePeckham charity (https://www.theatrepeckham.co.uk/), which supports and nurtures children and young people in one of London's most impoverished boroughs to discover the magic of theatre, and to develop their potential as young audiences, artists and theatre professionals of tomorrow.
