About us
A social group aimed at connecting young neurodiverse and/or queer people in the Portland area ages 18-35. Neurotypicals and 35+ are very much welcome!!!
I decided to create this group in order to create opportunities for myself and others to meet like-minded peers, a goal that sounds much easier in theory than it does in practice (at least from my experience). Most of my friends in the past have been neurodivergent and/or queer, so I thought I would appeal to my audience!
This group will aim to introduce a variety of fun/creative activities ranging anywhere from writing activies, sharing art, party games, or just simply getting to know each other in a fun venue. Events will prioritize low cost and accessability as to limit excluding people. Events in this group should create opportunities for effortless fun while aiming to eliminate any of those pesky external stressors. Suggestions and constructive criticism are very much encouraged.
Some ideas for the groups might be:
NOTICE: All activities are meant to be fun and lighthearted and not feel like work.
- Party games and fun icebreakers that keep small talk to a minimum (straight to good stuff, no filler!)
- Interviewing Each Other (selected randomly by wheel/generator)
- Creating a fake PSA or product and fielding questions (humourous and bizzare ideas are very much encouraged!!)
- Adult Show and Tell (not intended to revolve around sex stuff, but if you want to go nuts)
- Themed character creation and creative writing activities
