I had had some exposure to the Internal Family System (IFS) through a couple of authors, but this was the first by Richard Schwartz, the founder of IFS. We have parts of us that we are ashamed of, so we have exiled them. Other parts of us are managers, protecting us or putting out fires. All these parts need our true self to step up, be the adult, and befriend each of these parts. I have already gained a lot from this book, and I know I have more to learn.
I have both the Kindle and the Audible versions. There are activities in each chapter. In the Audible version, Dr. Richard Schwartz leads the activity sessions.
We meet on the first and third Tuesday @ noon Central time. Below is our tentative schedule.
Oct 7—Introduction
Oct 21--Chapter 1
Nov 3--Chapter 2 (Change to Monday due to a scheduling conflict)
Nov 18--Chapter 3
Dec 2--Chapter 4
Dec 18--Chapter 5
