Your Hungry Dragon Introduction

Thank you for being a member of Your Hungry Dragon’s Meetup site. As a way of thanking you for joining our community, I am sharing a link with you to an introductory course. I will be sharing many of the lessons and secrets I’ve learned over the years both in the US and Asia on how to make authentic healthy Chinese cuisine.

From my many years studying with different great Chinese chefs I have enjoyed many different kinds of Chinese food yet have continued to find ways of making the dishes healthier, as an example: not using MSG, or limiting the amount or type of oil.

I am often asked, “What are the most common sauces or spices used when preparing authentic Chinese food.” In this introductory course I will try my best to explain what and when you use certain spices or sauces. I’ll also discuss the different cooking utensils, core ingredients and different sauces used when preparing Chinese food.

It’s my goal that by the time you finish this introductory course you will have a foundational understanding of what goes into preparing authentic healthy Chinese cuisine.

I remember as a teenager working in the Chinese restaurant, I believed you had to have a WOK to cook Chinese food. Now I rarely use a WOK, instead I use a regular frying pan. Like with preparing different types of cuisine, most pans will work as long as it holds what you’re cooking. That said, there are certain things you do need depending on what you’re making. I will go over them as you move through this course.

From running three businesses and raising three small children at the same time, I needed to find ways to streamline the cooking process without giving up flavor or quality. So, I designed ways to prepare healthy delicious meals in 30 minutes or less. I hope you are able to take the lessons I share and create your own delicious Chinese meals.
