## How SBTI Turned MBTI into China’s Latest Viral Meme

YoYo English Club Discussion | Host: Janet
Date: Tuesday, May 19
Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Venue: Dante Coffee, Taipei
Minimum Order: NT$85
Have you ever taken a personality test and thought, “This is so me”?
From MBTI to SBTI, personality quizzes have become more than simple tests. They are now part of internet culture, social identity, humor, and even self-mockery.
Recently, SBTI has gone viral across Chinese social media. At first glance, it looks like another version of MBTI. But unlike MBTI, which tries to describe personality in a more structured way, SBTI works more like a meme-style quiz. Its results often use slang, irony, and exaggerated labels that people enjoy sharing online.
Why did it become so popular?
Is it just entertainment, or does it also reflect how young people see themselves today?
In this session, we will explore personality tests, internet memes, self-image, social labeling, and the growing culture of irony online.
