Improv Skills & Games, In Person!

Details

As we conduct these in person Improv sessions our first priority is keeping everyone safe.
A close second is helping people find plentiful reasons to laugh, learn, and grow in these interesting times.

Quick safety blurb:
Covid-19 vaccination is strongly recommended for attendees, but no longer required.
Face masks will be available, to be used at each attendee’s discretion.

Improv session details:
We will meet in person and play improv games in a fun, relaxed, and judgment free setting.
People of all backgrounds and experience levels, especially no experience, are welcome!
Ages 16+ are recommended, as our humor can get adult, blue, explicit, etc.
Parents of younger kiddos who want to know more are encouraged to attend for yourselves and then make a decision, as you know your kids best.

We will start with a quick chat about the spirit of improv, an introduction to the fundamentals of improv, and then warm up both body and mind with exercises practicing improv principles.
We will then play games to help learn each other’s names, games to be intentionally silly, large group games, and explore smaller scale scene work; all while making sure that everyone gets an enjoyable amount of “stage” time.
We will wind down with a final group game and end with a round table for feedback on the session, announcement of upcoming events, and/or creative projects.

3 HOUR SESSION NOTE
New for 2025, the first and third Saturday of every month will be a 3 HOUR SESSION!
We are trying this new experiment to diversify our improv offerings for the community.
The plan, open to input and revision, is to hold our usual 2 hour improv session up front, and then have the 3rd hour to focus on a specific improv skill.
Object work, character development, tackling serious improv topics, etc.
We’re looking forward to hearing the community’s thoughts on this experiment!

Join us to improve your ability to be in the moment, learn more about improvisation, let your creativity come out to play, and/or just have fun in what some of our attendees like to call your “Weekly weird!”

Cost is $10 to play and free to watch.
All fees will go towards the rental of the space.
Can be paid in cash at the venue or electronically via:
