A Panel Discussion: Is Game Testing True Testing?

Details
Have you ever heard someone say that game testers aren’t real testers? Maybe you’ve heard someone say that all game testers do is sit around all day playing with an Xbox, hoping things will go wrong. That game testing doesn’t have any process around it. And that it isn’t a real sub-branch of software testing.
Some people would definitely have a point of contention with these statements.
At the next yvrTesting we are putting together a mixed panel of game test professionals and more traditional testers to debate the ins and outs of this question. The audience can expect to learn about game testing and how it works but also get some insight into how we’ve formed these perceptions about game testing. Were our assumptions once more accurate than they are today?
To make the entire session just a little more interesting, we’re going to give the game tester panelists the home court advantage. This month’s yvrTesting is being held at the EA Head Office. So on top of a fabulous debate and interesting information, you’ll get a bit of a view into what it feels like to be in the home of game testers.

It’s going to be an exciting one so we hope to see you there!
